What will you do in this role: 
This exciting opportunity will allow you to take responsibility for delivering value by supporting new product development and aiding in customer inquiries.  You will work closely with Delrin® scientists to develop and execute analytical testing and data analysis to deliver innovative customer solutions.  You will provide technical expertise to solve complex problems and demonstrate leadership skills to manage work independently.  At Delrin®, you will play a crucial role in new product development programs and customer support to discover the next generation of Delrin® products which will directly impact business performance.  As innovation grows, so can you.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Operate analytical testing equipment including FTIR, GC and liquid chromatography, optical microscope, TGA, and DSC.
  • Follow standard operating procedures for sample preparation/testing and adhere to all safety requirements for experiments and equipment.
  • Adapt known testing methods to established equipment and develop/implement new testing methods to support research and development.
  • Identify and troubleshoot instrument problems and facilitate repairs/maintenance.
  • Document and organize laboratory work, results, and data.
Ideal Profile: 
  • Educational Background: bachelor’s or associate degree, preferably in relevant STEM fields (chemistry, engineering, or other field).
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in chemical testing including GC, LC, and thermal analysis techniques.
  • Passion for working safely and efficiently.
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn new skills, and has a practiced ability to effectively prioritize, organize, and plan responsibilities.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbally and written).
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft applications - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Outlook, Microsoft Teams Meetings.
  • Knowledge or working experience with polymers is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with other chemical/polymer testing techniques (i.e., melt flow index, tensile and impact testing, rheology, etc.) is preferred, but not required.
  • Based in Wilmington, Delaware.
